NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) -

Check your flight status: That's the message from Charleston International Airport officials after weather conditions in the northeast have impacted flights out of the Holy City.

Seven flights have been canceled at the airport because of the powerful winter storm's impact.

The destinations involved in the cancellations are Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, Boston and Newark, New Jersey, according to airport officials.

The canceled flights include trips on America, Delta and United Airlines, according to the airport's website.

The Nor'easter was moving offshore Saturday morning but has been blamed for flooding streets in some areas and up to a foot of snow in others. In some areas, powerful winds snapped trees and knocked out power to more than 1.8 million homes and businesses.

Five people were killed, including two children.

Airlines canceled more than 2,800 flights, mostly in the Northeast. LaGuardia and Kennedy airports in New York City were brought to a near standstill.
