NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) -

North Charleston will be going green a week ahead of St. Patrick's Day.

The city is hosting it's annual St. Paddy's Day Block Party and Parade on Saturday in the Park Circle area. The party along East Montague Ave. from 12 to 6 p.m. will include live music on three stages, food vendors, a Kid's Zone, adult beverages and more. The parade along East Montague Ave. starts at 12 p.m.

Free parking will be available but the event draws tens of thousands so everyone is encouraged to carpool and arrive early. East Montague Ave. will close between Virginia Ave. and Jenkins Ave. at 9 a.m. and remain closed until 7 p.m. The stretch of East Montague between Park Place and Jenkins will close at 11:30 a.m. and reopen after the parade.
