CHARLESTON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - A South Carolina house representative whose district covers part of the greater Charleston area has announced he will seek re-election.
Peter McCoy (R-Charleston) chairs the House Utility Ratepayer Protection Committee investigating the VC Summer failure. His district encompasses parts of James Island, Folly Beach, Kiawah and Seabrook Islands.
He was elected in 2011 and most recently ran unopposed in 2016. A Charleston native, he was the assistant solicitor in Charleston County from 2005 to 2010.
