Sheriff's office investigating after woman shot in Goose Creek

BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCSC) -

Deputies with the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office are investigating after a woman was shot in Goose Creek Tuesday night. 

Authorities responded to a home on the 100 block of Blossom Street at 8:21 p.m. for a reported shooting. 

When they arrived they found a woman who had been shot. 

According to the sheriff's office, the woman was alert and was able to speak to deputies. 

She was then transported to Trident Medical for treatment.

Her condition has not been released. 

Detectives are investigating and are trying to determine the origin of the shots fired. 

"The specifics of where and how many times are not being released until further investigation is done," BCSO officials said.

Witnesses say fire and EMS crews also responded to the scene.
