Report: Woman walked up to car in downtown Charleston, shot into vehicle

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) -

Investigators have arrested a 26-year-old woman accused of walking up to a car and shooting into the vehicle in downtown Charleston. 

The Charleston Police Department arrested Desiree Najee Brown of North Charleston and charged her with attempted murder. 

She was arrested in connection to an incident that happened on Wednesday morning at 8:59 a.m. when officers responded to the corner of Allway and Norman streets for gun shots heard in the area. 

Police say they received a description of the suspect who was reportedly seen shooting into a vehicle. 

A witness said he saw a woman walk up to the driver side of the vehicle and begin shooting into it. 

According to the witness, the suspect shot four times into the car. 

Officers canvassed the area and found four spent 9mm shell casings on the ground and broken glass.
