BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCSC) -

A Berkeley County teacher may appear at the upcoming Tony Awards if he receives a national accolade.

Drama students at Cane Bay High School in Berkeley County nominated theater teacher Edwin Hall for the “Excellence in Theatre Education Award.”

For the submission, the students created a video describing the positive impact Hall has made on their lives.

"It's probably the most rewarding three minutes of my career that I've ever seen,” Hall said of seeing the video for the first time.

Student Jesse Stratford helped to create it.

"The way that he teaches this class and the way that he directs our shows, it's really inspiring to see him put so much work and effort into just high school students,” Stratford said.

The winning teacher will receive the award at the Tony Awards ceremony on June 10.

The show will air on WCSC.
