Prosecutors: Man connected to disappearance of Britanee Drexel failed lie detector test

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Federal prosecutors say a man connected to the disappearance of a teen in Myrtle Beach failed a lie detector test about it.

This new information comes as Timothy Taylor awaits sentencing for a 2011 armed robbery in Mount Pleasant.

According to newly filed court paperwork, prosecutors agreed last year to drop the most severe charge for that crime, if he gave them information about the Britanee Drexel case.

The 17-year-old went missing from the Grand Strand in 2009.

Taylor agreed to the test, and he was asked if he knew who was involved in her disappearance, and if he ever saw her in person.

Prosecutors say he answered "No" to both those questions, and failed the test.

Taylor faces up to 20 years in prison for the armed robbery.
