CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The filing period for candidates in the 2018 South Carolina elections begins Friday.

Statewide seats up for grabs include governor, secretary of state, treasurer, superintendent of education, as well as seats in the House of Representatives at both the state and federal levels.

The statewide primary election is June 12.

The filing period lasts two weeks.
