CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Charleston Police detectives have charged a man in the Wednesday shooting of an 11-year-old boy.
Marquis Ramone Miles, 24, was arrested at around 1:30 p.m. Friday and has been charged with six counts of attempted murder and possession of a firearm during a violent crime.
Miles appeared before a judge Saturday morning. The judge set Miles' bond at $975,000.
The boy was sitting in a vehicle about 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the 500 block of Rutledge Avenue with his parents and three siblings when someone fired several shots into the car, hitting the boy in the right arm, according to police.
The boy was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police say they determined the gunman was shooting at the boy's stepfather.
