DD4 cancels after-school programs Tuesday over weather threat

DORCHESTER COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Dorchester County School District 4 announced it is canceling after-school activities Tuesday over the potential for severe weather.

The district's Twitter account cites the "enhanced risk" of severe weather possible in the afternoon.

A severe thunderstorm watch that had been effect Tuesday morning for most of the Lowcountry expired at 9 a.m after a "first wave" of severe storms moved through the area.

Forecasters say another round of storms were expected in the early afternoon.
