Hemingway Police release armed robbery surveillance footage

HEMINGWAY, SC (WCSC) -

Hemingway investigators are searching for a man who robbed a convenience store employee at gunpoint.

Police released dramatic surveillance footage of the robbery showing the robber holding a gun on a store clerk as she emptied the cash register at Young's Store on Tuesday.

The Williamsburg County Sheriff's Office shared the video on its website Wednesday afternoon.

Detectives are asking anyone with information on the robbery to contact Hemingway Police Chief Brian Todd at 843-558-2424.

    Mount Pleasant fire and police are on the scene of a reported structure fire, according to Charleston County dispatchers. Dispatchers say emergency crews are along the 400 block of Whilden Street in Mount Pleasant. Police are on the scene directing traffic.
