CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) -

Another shooting death in North Charleston, another march for North Charleston police chief Reggie Burgess.

He took to the streets again Thursday in a march to "stop the violence," walking in the area of Dorchester Road and Ranger Drive before traveling down Houston Street.

The move comes less than a week after a shooting on Houston Street in the city.  He also marched earlier in March after a shooting in the area on Bennett Yard Road.

Burgess, 52, replaced Eddie Driggers as North Charleston police chief in early January.  He graduated from Bonds-Wilson/North Charleston High School in 1984. He joined the North Charleston police department as an entry-level patrolman in 1989. He was named the assistant chief of the department in 2013.
