Former Orangeburg Co. deputy charged with misconduct in office

ORANGEBURG COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - A former Orangeburg County deputy sheriff is facing charges.

Jason Kip Nelson, 36, is charged with misconduct in office. He sent pornographic and sexually suggestive photographs of himself to women involved with criminal investigations, according to the affidavit provided by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division. He also solicited sexual acts from them, the affidavit said.

The allegations stem from his time in office between April 2016 and January 2017, according to the affidavit.
