College of Charleston junior Dupree Hart (Rock Hill, S.C.) has been honored as the Colonial Athletic Association Baseball Co-Player of the Week for the first time in his career after leading the Cougars to a perfect 4-0 record last week, announced CAA officials on Monday.
Hart batted .556 (10-for-18) with five runs scored and two RBI’s in Charleston’s 4-0 week. The junior second baseman had three hits in all three games of the Cougars’ sweep of William & Mary, going 9-for-14 (.643) in the series. Hart has reached base in 26 consecutive games dating back to last season and raised his team-best batting average to .385, which ranks third in the CAA.
The Cougars return to the diamond on Tuesday when they host No. 24 Coastal Carolina in the second and final game of the season series. First pitch is set for 6:00 pm at Patriots Point.
