State Department, AAA team up for Passport Day in Charleston

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Need a passport? Wednesday may be the day to get one.

The Charleston AAA travel branch is teaming up with the Charleston passport center on Wednesday for a special passport day.

No appointment is needed and applicants will be seen on a first come, first serve basis. Adults and children can apply for the first time or renew. Officials recommend getting it done now because the passport execution fee jumps from $25 to $35 on April 2.

The passport renewals and signups are happening at the Charleston AAA branch at 2031 Sam Rittenberg Blvd from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Adults are $135 for first time and $110 for renewal.

Kids under 16 years old are $105 for first-time renewals.
