One person dies after triple shooting in Walterboro

WALTERBORO, SC (WCSC) -

One person has died after a triple shooting in Walterboro Wednesday night.

The victim, 18-year-old Erica Caldwell, died from gunshot wounds, according to the Colleton County deputy coroner.

At 9:21 p.m., officers from the Walterboro Police Department responded to 426 Savage Street in reference to a shooting that just happened.

According to police, when officers arrived on the scene they met two victims and were told another victim was transported by private car to Colleton Medical Center. 

"Investigators are actively working the crime scene and the information surrounding the incident is still unknown," police said."If anyone has any information regarding this incident please call Walterboro Police Department at 843-549-1811."

Officers currently have a portion of the road closed off as authorities investigate the scene.
