Boeing falls victim to small malware intrusion, report says N. Charleston facility affected

NORTH CHARLESTON (WCSC) - Boeing says a small malware intrusion affected systems Wednesday.

A tweet from the company said a small number of systems impacted because of the breach.

The Seattle Times reported Wednesday that the Malware attack was caused by the virus "WannaCry". The report also cites a memo from a chief engineer which said the attack "is metastasizing rapidly out of North Charleston". Boeing said the report was overstated and inaccurate in its statement

Boeing also disputed that report to CBS News.

.A Boeing official told CBS News transportation correspondent Kris Van Cleave that a "patch" was applied to fix the company's computer system.
