CHARLESTON, SC - The Charleston fire department is looking into what caused a house fire downtown Friday.
Crews responded to Riker Street in less than three minutes just before 3 a.m. They found the house vacant and unsecured, according to Charleston Chief Fire Marshal Mike Julazadeh.
The fire was venting from one story of the house when crews arrived at the scene.
"No occupants were located in the home at the time of the search and no injuries were reported," Julazadeh said.
The cause and origin of the fire are still under investigation.
