NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - North Charleston Coliseum say two big events that coincide Friday could cause traffic issues in the area.
The expo, which began on Thursday continues all day Friday at the Charleston Area Convention Center. But on Friday night, Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band will play at the North Charleston Coliseum at 8 p.m, coliseum spokesman Alan Coker says.
Bridge Run Expo attendees and participants who are picking up their race packets are strongly encouraged to come on Thursday from noon until 8 p.m. rather than waiting until Friday when traffic is expected to be worse and parking limited, Coker said.
Coliseum and convention center parking lots will open at 8 a.m. and large crowds are expected for both events, he said.
Once parking lots fill up, expo attendees and those picking up their packets will be directed to the Fire Museum/Tanger Outlet to walk or take free shuttles back to the convention center, Coker said. The shuttles begin running at 10 a.m.
Jimmy Buffet concert attendees are encouraged to carpool.
Shuttles for off-site parking for the Buffet concert begin at 6 p.m. and doors open at 6:30 p.m.
