CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Authorities have arrested a woman accused of shooting a husband and wife during an altercation at a Charleston playground.
The Charleston Police Department arrested 27-year-old Kennathia Saunders on Monday and charged her with two counts of attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
Saunders' arrest is in connection to an incident on Saturday when an officer responded to a home on Allway Street for an assault where the victim said he and his wife were shot.
The victim told the officer that he was in his home watching TV when he heard his wife outside yelling with another woman.
According to a report, the victim went outside and attempted to pull his wife away from the altercation that was taking place by a nearby playground.
Police say at some point the suspect said she was going to shoot the wife and began firing a gun.
A report states bullets hit the couple; the man was shot in the finger and his wife was struck "in the left forearm and left side area."
Police say the suspect then took off in a car.
