WASHINGTON D.C. (WCSC) -

The head of the Environmental Protection Agency is set to announce a reversal of tough standards for greenhouse gas emissions and auto fuel economy.

But rolling back the Obama-era standards is not why Scott Pruitt is making the news. The White House is investigating the ethics of a deal he made to rent a condo in D.C, a deal he did not disclose.

Turns out, Pruitt had been renting an upscale apartment for a far below-market-rate of $50 a night from the wife of a top energy lobbyist. Some would call that a conflict of interest.

This comes at a time Pruitt is also being questioned about first-class plane travel, which cost tens of thousands of taxpayer dollars.

It seems the clock is ticking on Pruitt’s career as head of the EPA.
