NORTH CHARLESTON (WCSC) - Allegiant Airlines begins flying the friendly Charleston skies Wednesday.
The first flight arrives from Pittsburgh at gate A2 at 1:21 p.m. with a water cannon salute. The airline will also offer service to Cincinnati and Indianapolis beginning later this week.
"We are always excited to welcome a new airline to Charleston International Airport," Charleston County Aviation Authority CEO Paul Campbell said in a statement. "Allegiant becomes our eighth airline and the second to offer travelers a la carte options when it comes to travel."
All flights are non-stop and seasonal while operating twice weekly.
