CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Books for Beer. That's the name of the game for the Charleston Friends of the Library.
On Tuesday, April 10, from 5:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m., you can donate a book at the Bay Street Biergarten in downtown Charleston and get a free beer or root beer in return.
There is a limit of one free beer or root beer per person.
The Charleston Friends of the Library in turn will sell the books and all the money received will go to help all the public libraries in Charleston County.
There will also be silent auctions taking place at the event, which is family friendly.
It's being held in conjunction with National Library Week from April 8 to April 14.
This special week is to celebrate the life-changing work of libraries, librarians and library workers.
Libraries now aren't just places to borrow books and study, but they're also creative and engaging community centers where people can collaborate using new technologies and develop their skills and pursue their passions.
