COLLETON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) -

Two bodies found by Colleton County deputies Saturday have been identified.

Imajea Holmes, 17, and Tyrone Jones, 29, were the victims, according to Colleton County Coroner Richard Harvey.

News of the two who were discovered in a vehicle Sunday near the small town of Smoaks in Colleton County spread quickly.

"People were talking right after service. They heard that it was a car accident right down the street right here," Kevin Wiggins, who lives in the area, said.

Wiggins goes to church near where he says the crash happened.

"This is a very peaceful area," Wiggins says. "Everybody gets along that I know of, so I'm really shocked at what happened."

Deputies from the Colleton County Sheriff's Office got a call at about 2:30 a.m. about a traffic accident in the 8500 block of Augusta highway. They were told a car was stuck in a ditch. When they got to the scene, deputies found Holmes and Jones dead inside that car from what looked like gunshot wounds.

Kevin said the town is small enough that everyone says they already know who the victims were.

"I know both families. The one from Smoaks area and the one from Green Pond area," he says.

As he and the rest of the community wait for more information, he says the only thing he can do now is turn to his faith.

"I'm just praying for the families and hoping we can get everything settled. I hope we can get over this."

Deputies say the investigation is currently under investigation and urge anyone who has information to contact Colleton County Sheriff's Office at 843-549-2211 or Crime Stoppers at 843-554-1111 if you wish to remain anonymous.
