SUMMERVILLE, SC (WCSC) - Summerville could soon be a safer place to walk along a few busy roadways.
The town is looking into adding a sidewalk on Central Avenue. It would start just west of the existing sidewalk on West Carolina Avenue. The project would also continue the existing sidewalk to the front of a retirement home and onto Orangeburg Road.
The decision up for debate Monday is whether to pay the contractor almost $260,000 to start the project. The possibility of buying snowplows and five salt sprayers is also up for discussion.
The meeting begins inside town council chambers at 5:30 p.m.
