CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - State Rep. Wendell Gilliard was in downtown Charleston Monday morning to meet with Department of Transportation officials.
He wants a pedestrian bridge built somewhere over the busy downtown area to limit auto-pedestrian accidents in the area. He has previously fought for it without much success.
Gilliard appears to have renewed his push in wake of a fatal auto-pedestrian accident in the area last Thursday. He still wants the bridge, though he says some immediate steps must take place to protect pedestrians.
