Police: One wounded in West Ashley shooting

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Police are working to identify the gunman in a shooting that sent one person to the hospital.

Police responded to a shooting in Ardmore at approximately 2:15 p.m., according to Charleston Police spokesman Charles Francis.

EMS took a shooting victim to the hospital with a non-life-threatening injury, Francis said.

A portion of Evergreen Street was blocked off by crime scene tape where investigators are searching for a gunman.

Charleston County dispatchers said the call about shots fired in the area came in at 2:03 p.m.
