NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - North Charleston Police and U.S. Marshals arrested an 18-year-old Monday in the March 2 murder of a North Charleston teenager. He's expected to appear at a bond court hearing Tuesday morning.

JaJuan Lockwood, 18, is charged with murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, according to North Charleston Police spokesman Spencer Pryor.

Police responded shortly before 7 p.m. on March 2 at a CSX Railroad property on Bennett Yard Road where an unresponsive man, later identified as Vaughn McFadden, 18, had been found. McFadden had been shot, Pryor said.

Officers arrested Lockwood at a North Charleston home without incident, Pryor said.

Lockwood is the second person arrested in connection with McFadden's death. Maurice T. Singleton, also 18, was charged with murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime on March 8, Pryor said.

Surveillance footage recorded the sound of gunfire at 5:23 p.m. on the night of McFadden's death, according to the affidavit. Lockwood is then seen on the footage walking away from the scene 13 minutes later, the affidavit stated. A witness also saw one of the two men shooting into the ground where McFadden was later found, according to the affidavit.
