MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (WCSC) - A final decision on a ban on plastics could come as soon as Tuesday for the town of Mt. Pleasant.
The town council is expected to make a final decision soon. They're expected to vote on the final reading of an environmentally acceptable packaging and products law. If approved, it would ban single-use plastic products and styrofoam.
Lawmakers at the state level are considering a law that would stop Mount Pleasant and other cities from passing such a ban on plastics and similar products. The meeting begins Tuesday night at 6 p.m.
