SUMMERVILLE, SC (WCSC) -

The South Carolina Department of Education has reinstated the teaching certificate for the educator involved in the crash that killed an NCPD officer in February.

Whitney Danielle Brooks, who was charged with DUI following the accident that killed NCPD Officer Ryan MacCluen in February, has had her suspension lifted Wednesday after said charges were dropped.

The South Carolina Board of Education suspended Brooks on Feb. 27 as a result of alleged unprofessional conduct and arrest on the charge of felony driving under the influence, according to a release.

The felony DUI charge was dropped against Brooks after her toxicology report came back negative.
