CHARLESTON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - The Charleston Animal Society helped the U.S. Marshals, the FBI and the ASPCA in a dog fighting ring bust.
The rescue operation saved 30 dogs and included five staff members from the animal society including a vet and an animal cruelty investigator. The crew assisted with evidence collection and the removal of dogs from three properties associated with dog fighting in the Columbia area, according to a release.
The dogs will be transported to an ASPCA temporary shelter at an undisclosed location, where they will receive medical care until custody is determined by a court.
