NORTH CHARLESTON (WCSC) - A police chase Friday led to charges for three men.

Jaquez Lawrence is facing charges of failure to stop for blue lights, unlawful carrying of a weapon, possession of a stolen vehicle and possession of stolen goods. Troy Whitley is charged with possession of a motor vehicle, unlawful carrying of a weapon and possession of marijuana. Carl Thomas is charged with unlawful carrying of a gun.

Officers tried to stop their Acura on Florida Avenue. After a brief chase, the car hit a tree and the men tried to get away on foot, according to North Charleston police spokesman Spencer Pryor.

The men went into a house in the 200 block of Clement Avenue where one was found hiding in the attic. Another was located down the street and a third found on Burton Lane, Pryor said.

When officers searched the house, they found a police-issued vest stolen out of Charleston County, several magazines, a 511 flashlight and multiple rounds of ammunition, according to Pryor.

Two women in the house were also charged with simple possession of marijuana.
