BEAUFORT, SC (WCSC) - The leader or Beaufort County Schools is being considered for the position of State Superintendent of Education in Alabama, state sources have confirmed.
Dr. Jeffrey Charles Moss was named an alternate finalist after four others were selected from among seven semi-finalists, Alabama Department of Education spokesman Michael Sibley said.
State officials in Alabama selected the seven semi-finalists for the position from an original pool of 41 candidates, he said.
Moss was named Superintendent of the Beaufort County School District in June 2013, according to the district's website.
