Black Panther actor to visit schools, receive recognition in Lowcountry Friday

CHARLESTON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - An actor from the hit movie The Black Panther will be in the Charleston area Friday.

Cyrus Birch played a Jabari warrior and has worked for 10 years to prevent kids from dropping out at Colleton County High School.

He's visiting Burke High School and the Sanders=Clyde Creative Arts School where he will receive a resolution from State rep. Wendell Gilliard.

According to Forbes, Black Panther broke numerous box office records including biggest February opening weekend and biggest non-sequel opening weekend. It grossed the fifth highest opening weekend ever ($202 million) behind Avengers ($207 million), Jurassic World ($208 million), Star Wars: The Last Jedi ($220 million) and Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($248 million).
