NORTH CHARLESTON (WCSC) - North Charleston residents will soon have a new place to go for quick emergency care.

Trident Health is partnering with CareNow to open up its second urgent care facility in the Lowcountry following the opening a Goose Creek location in 2017. A ribbon cutting at the center is located at 8445 Dorchester Road and will open to patients next Tuesday after a ribbon-cutting Monday.

Physicians at CareNow facilities can provide quick care for non-life threatening injuries as well as physicals, vaccinations and general treatment services. The clinics will have X-ray and lab services onsite

"CareNow clinics improve access to care by providing a convenient option for patients who need acute unscheduled care that does not require the emergency department," Summerville Medical Center CEO Lisa Valentine said. "We believe that the CareNow® clinics are a valuable resource for our community and a quality addition to the Trident Health family."

The center will also offer online check-in for appointments through the CareNow website.

The CareNow® Urgent Care - North Charleston will be open seven days a week, and hours will extend into the evening, according to Trident Health spokesman Rod Whiting.
