NORTH CHARLESTON - (WCSC) - Joshua Orlando Washington of Summerville and Brandon Lloyd Daniels of North Charleston were denied bond Friday morning for the armed robbery that happened on April 4 at the Tavern and Table restaurant.
Chris Dixon, manager of the restaurant, was shot during the incident.
Washington and Daniels are both charged with armed robbery, attempted murder, and three counts of kidnapping. Daniels was found to be a former employee of the restaurant, according to the affidavit.
Daniels and Washington both appeared on the monitor during the bond hearing in North Charleston. When Daniels arrived, the judge asked for victim impact statements. Dixon's mother offered just one line.
"Your honor, I forgive this man," she said. " And I hope he can turn his life to God."
Daniels then fired a weapon during the robbery, striking Dixon before leaving the scene with money, police said. Employees reported Dixon was shot in the back.
During Washington's bond hearing, Dixon's mother described her son's condition.
"He is in excruciating pain," she said. "I have been by his bedside at the hospital for two weeks and two days now."
She said her son was hallucinating because of the amount of pain he is in.
"My heart goes out to his family but I am asking you to serve justice," Dixon's mother said.
Dixon has worked with the restaurant team for more than 15 years and is a new father.
