BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Multiple arrests were made this week in an effort to crack down on drug crimes in Ladson and College Park.

Between Wednesday and Thursday, the Drug Enforcement Unit of the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office made a series of drug arrests targeting some of the most dangerous drugs available.

The following people were arrested for drug-related crimes

  • Amy Woodward, 25
  • Christopher Cloer,31
  • Ronald Bowers,30
  • Sandra Robinson,26
  • Ashley Krause,28
  • William Distler,31

Offenses included trafficking in methamphetamines, possession with the intent to distribute, trafficking heroin, and firearms violation.

Sheriff Duane Lewis said that these arrests are necessary to building a safer community.

"Heroin and methamphetamines are horrible drugs that ruin lives. These arrests are of people who are poisoning our residents - killing people and destroying families," Lewis said.  "I am glad that we were able to help get these folks off the street and to help make Ladson and College Park a bit safer"

A statement read that the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office is committed to ridding the community of drugs by targeting drug-related crimes.
