MT. PLEASANT, SC - Ari Sechopoulos (Windsor, Ontario, Canada) played hero with a walk-off double in the bottom of the 11th, and Nathan Ocker (Middletown, Pa.) and Carter Love (Charlotte, N.C.) combined for four and one-third shutout innings in relief to lead the College of Charleston baseball team to a 3-2 walk-off win over Delaware on Sunday afternoon in Colonial Athletic Association play.
With the victory, College of Charleston (30-15, 12-6 CAA) secures its sixth series sweep of the season and third in conference play, while reaching the 30-win plateau for the 18th time in program history. Danny Wondrack (Wall, N.J.) plated two with a two-out double in the sixth, and Sechopoulos drove in the pinch-runner Cameron Garrett (Charleston, S.C.) with a two-bagger in the 11th to provide the offense for the Cougars.
Jakob Frishmuth (Myrtle Beach, S.C.) allowed two runs on six hits in six and two-third innings, while tying his career-high with seven strikeouts. Ocker battled through three and one-third frames, allowing one hit and three walks while striking out four. Love pitched a scoreless 11th to earn his fifth win of the season, and 17th of his career.
Kevin Mohollen reached base three times and scored both Delaware runs to pace the Blue Hen offense. Zach Miller went 2-for-5 in the nine-hole, while Nick Patten drove in one as part of a 1-for-3 effort. Chris Ludman got the start and surrendered two runs on three hits and struck out six in six innings of work. Colman Vila kept the Cougars scoreless for three and two-thirds innings, scattering two hits and striking out four. James Meeker took the loss after allowing one run on one hit in one frame.
