Huge two-day crime and drug sweep in Berkeley Co. results in 59 arrests

BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Multiple law enforcement agencies conducted a coordinated crime and drug sweep last week in Berkeley County.

Goose Creek police, Hanahan police, Bonneau police, Summerville police, the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division and the Dorchester County Sheriff's Office all participated last Thursday and Friday.

"This was a lot of work but it was needed," Sheriff Duane Lewis stated. "The areas we worked during this crime sweep continue to have high call volumes and problems related to drugs,"

The operation netted 59 arrests ranging from drugs to guns and people with warrants out for their arrest.
