Coastal Carolina senior Kevin Woodall Jr., was voted the Sun Belt’s Community Coffee Player of the Week, the Conference announced today.
Woodall helped Coastal sweep UL Monroe this past weekend as three of his six hits went for extra bases and the first baseman had at least two RBI, two runs scored, one hit and one walk in all three games. Overall, he batted .500 (6-fror-12) with nine runs scored, eight RBI, a double, two home runs (his 15th and 16th of the season), five walks, a 1.083 slugging percentage and a .737 on base percentage.
In game one versus the Warhawks, a 14-4 win, Woodall was 1-for-4 with his lone hit being a two-run double. He additionally walked twice and scored twice. In game two, an 11-4 win, he was 2-for-3 with a two-run home run and he scored three times thanks to a pair of walks. In the finale, a 17-16 CCU win, Woodall was 3-for-5 with four RBI and four runs scored. He hit a two-run home run, hit a two-run single and walked once.
For the season, Woodall ranks third in the NCAA (first in the Sun Belt) with 16 home runs, 13th nationally (second in the Sun Belt) with 53 RBI and 15th in the nation (third in the Sun Belt) with 49 runs scored. Woodall also leads the Sun Belt in total bases (104), ranks fourth in slugging (.575) and eighth in walks (30).
