WEST ASHLEY, SC (WCSC) - I'm sure we've all been reminded when we were kids to look both ways before you cross the street.
Well it looks like that also pertains to alligators in the Lowcountry.
A West Ashley resident captured video of a gator giving the right of way to a car in the Grand Oaks neighborhood near Bees Ferry Road Saturday morning.
"I was driving my car to Folly Beach to go surfing," Hung Vo said."When I pulled out of my neighborhood, I noticed the 13-foot gator walking."
Vo said he parked his car nearby and captured video of the gator.
The video shows the gator stop right before the road to let a car go by.
"The gator was very smart because it would stop and look at both sides of the street to make sure it was safe before crossing the street," Vo said."Most motorists stopped and took pics."
