MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (WCSC) - A Chick-Fil-A opened Wednesday morning on Long Point Road is expected to impact traffic in that area of Mount Pleasant.
The location at 653 Long Point Road is going to bring 80 new jobs to the area, according to the chain. The restaurant is nearly 5,000-square-feet and features a two-story interactive indoor play area for children as well as free Wi-Fi.
Two drive-thru ordering lanes will then merge into a single lane for payment and pickup. The main room seats 120 while patio seating adds another 16 seats. Franchise owner Josh Malone began operating his first Chick-Fil-A in Shelby, North Carolina in 2004 but is a native of South Carolina.
"My team members and I can't wait to serve even more guests within the Mount Pleasant community as we're not just in the chicken business — we're in the people business," said Malone. "I will continue to grow my team members in leadership and purpose so they can provide customers with a remarkable experience by serving freshly prepared food, with healthy options, and sincere hospitality."
Breakfast will be served until 10:30 a.m. and the restaurant is open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday. It will also follow the Chick-Fil-A tradition of closing on Sundays.
On Tuesday, people lined up early to be one of the first 100 people who then received a digital card loaded with 52 free Chick-Fil-A meals consisting of a sandwich, fries and a drink.
