ORANGEBURG COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Investigators have released video of a man suspected of a shooting that injured three people in Orangeburg County.
Sheriff Leroy Ravenell said the incident happened on April 30 when a man exited his vehicle at the Chestnut Street Shell gas station and began firing.
"It appears this individual had no regards for the safety of anyone around him," Ravenell said. "In fact, his victims were motorists passing by the business."
According to the sheriff's office, three people in a car said that as they drove past the gas station just after 1 a.m. they heard gunfire coming from the direction of the business.
"The trio said that in the commotion, they missed their turn off," OCSO official said."Turning around, the motorists passed the business a second time and for a second time heard gunfire."
Deputies say this time the vehicle's windows were struck by gunfire.
"Each of the three inside the car were struck by either glass or bullet fragments," OCSO officials said.
A report states security video shows an individual step away from a dark-colored vehicle parked at the gas pumps.
"The individual is carrying what appears to be a long gun with what may be a drum," OCSO officials said.
If anyone has any information on the gunman or the incident, you are asked to call the OCSO at 803-534-3550 or Crime Stoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC. Callers can remain anonymous.
