NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - A Dorchester County elementary school went into a precautionary lockdown Monday afternoon because of a report of shots fired nearby.
Windsor Hill Arts Infused Elementary School went into lockdown at 1 p.m., according to Dorchester County School District 2 spokesperson Pat Raynor. The action was taken following a report of shots fired in a nearby neighborhood, she said.
The lockdown was lifted at 1:30 p.m. and the school has since resumed a normal schedule.
Dorchester County Sheriff's Maj. Tony Phinney said the call was investigated and cleared as "unfounded."
