NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Investigators have arrested a man accused of a murder in North Charleston.
Officers with the North Charleston Police Department arrested 33-year-old Mario Rayshaad Archield.
Archield was arrested in connection with the 2016 murder of 32-year-old Clay Ray Crudup of North Charleston.
On Friday at noon, authorities were told a wanted man was in the area of Arbutus Avenue. Officers say a foot pursuit started when the suspect, identified as Archield, ran off.
He was eventually detained in the area of Comstock and Beach Avenue.
Archield's arrest stems from an incident on the night of Sept. 1, 2016 when a police officer was in the area of Forest and Spruill avenues, and heard several gunshots.
The officer eventually found the gunshot victim on the ground in the area of Arbutus Avenue.
