CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The Charleston Animal Society unveiled a bench Tuesday morning to honor both K9-officers and their handlers.

The ceremony was part of National Police Week.

The bench recognizes the contributions of law enforcement and those who have fallen in the line of duty. North Charleston Mayor Keith Summey and Police Chief Reggie Burgess both attended the ceremony.

More than 30 officers attended the ceremony.
