Deputies searching for man accused of setting fire to father's home

BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Deputies are searching for a 25-year-old man who they say set fire to his father's home after getting kicked out of the house in Moncks Corner.

The Berkeley County Sheriff's Office is looking for Shaquille Davon Harris wanted for second-degree arson.

He's wanted for a fire that happened on May 2 on McCrystal Circle in the Windwood area of the county.

According to the sheriff's office, at the time of the incicent, Harris lived at the home and was being evicted by his father.

An arrest warrant states Harris was being evicted for hostile and aggressive manner he was showing his father.

Deputies reported finding evidence of accelerants having been used in several areas of the home.

Witnesses told investigators they heard loud noises which may have been explosions in the fire.

"Harris was the only person inside the residence when the fire was set," BCSO officials said.
