GEORGETOWN COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Joshua Grant recently completed a rare feat for any school student.

He didn't miss a day of school for 12 years from first through 12th grades. He didn't have any excused or unexcused absences at all.

Grant was recognized for the accomplishment at the Georgetown County High School Awards Ceremony that was held Tuesday night, according to Georgetown County School District spokesman Ray White.

"You can't learn if you're not at a place of learning," Grant said. "What motivated me to go to school every day because as my mom working three jobs and struggling with one way of transportation every day it was a struggle."

Grant added there were plenty of days he didn't want to go to school, but his mother provided him with inspiration. Grant added her favorite quote is,  "Nobody won't give you anything in life, you have to work for it."
