Savannah C-130 crash wreckage now at Joint Base Charleston

NORTH CHARLESTON (WCSC) - Wreckage from the C-130 crash in Savannah on May 2 has been transported to Joint Base Charleston.

It's sitting in a secure holding facility at the base, according to 2nd Lt. R Justin Cole with the 165th airlift wing of the Georgia Air National Guard stationed in Savannah.

Approximately 40 Joint Base Charleston personnel were assisting on site to include mortuary affairs/search and recovery team, legal team, chaplain and chaplain assistant, documentation team, and a mental health team, according to Joint Base Charleston spokesman Marvin Krause.
