TAKE A STAND: Trailblaze Challenge

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - It's heartbreaking and scary when a child is sick, even more so when it's a life-threatening illness.

That's why the Make-A-Wish Foundation is so important. The Spring 2018 Trailblaze Challenge in South Carolina has raised $400,000 for Make-A-Wish South Carolina.

That's a new record and that's amazing.

Volunteers hiked 28.3 miles along the Foothills Trail in the Appalachian Mountains.

We're very proud of Live 5 News investigative reporter Carter Coyle.  Carter and her husband Nick made the hike to raise money for Make-A-Wish. Bravo to all the volunteers.

Granting wishes for sick children is important and the group believes one moment changes everything.
